Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary
Bentley's bespoke coachbuilding division, Mulliner, has designed a unique keycase to commemorate the brand's centennial. Made of Dark Stained Walnut and Piano Black veneer, it comes with a flying 'B' paperweight, a set keys as well as a brochure with never-before-seen 1930 8 Litre imagery.
This is a great method to welcome a brand new vehicle owner.
Aesthetics
As a company that is primarily focused on design, Bentley takes its aesthetics seriously. It's evident in the precise positioning of its quilting, the choice of leather sourced from by-products of cattle production, the wood that comes from sustainably managed forests and the innovative patterns on its levers. As you approach a vehicle like the Continental GT W12, its sculptural beauty is displayed through carefully curated lighting.
The Continental GT is Bentley's most sophisticated open-top car. Its rear tonneau, as an example, showcased the largest piece of book-matched, dark-stained Burr Walnut veneer ever applied to a production Bentley. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.
Bentley is the most sought-after car brand in the world due to its distinctive design and workmanship. The firm continues to push the boundaries with the latest technology and craft, including the introduction of the digital instrument cluster with an electric tilt-opening back glass sunroof, a handcrafted docking station for Apple iPads and electrochromic 'smart' glass that can be changed between opaque and transparent by one button.
Bentley celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2019 100 years after the marque was founded. The marque, which is owned by Volkswagen on its own after years of conflict with BMW and BMW, had planned a number of special launches and events to celebrate the occasion. Before the pandemic planning took center stage, the marque held a series of special events and launches planned to commemorate this historic occasion.
Design
Bentley is a renowned brand for its lavish and extravagant automobiles and even keys are designed to make a statement. The Bentayga key is made of sterling silver and features an oversized 'B' logo that tells everyone you're a Bentley. It also has the years 1919 and 2019 to celebrate the company's centenary.
The Mulsanne was redesigned and redeveloped by Bentley Mulliner to be the ultimate Grand Touring car. It comes with two pairs of rear seats that are designed to be reminiscent of luxury private aviation offering passengers unbeatable comfort and privacy. The bespoke heating and ventilation system as well as the air conditioning system was created to give each passenger the perfect climate control setting.
Alongside a range of refined styling updates, the Mulsanne is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre W12 engine capable of producing 560bhp and 479lb-ft of torque. This colossal power is complemented by a new suspension design that offers Bentley's trademark hushed ride.
Bentley has released a special specification for cars manufactured after the year 2019 in order to celebrate its centenary. This is referred to as the Centenary Specification. This includes cross-stitching and contrast stitching in Centenary Gold thread throughout the cabin. The Bentley Wings on the headrests and seats are embroidered in Centenary Gold, adding to the sense of celebration. A custom Bentley key case is also included in the Centenary Specification, making the bentley key fob price experience all-inclusive.
Function
The bentley continental gt key Mulsanne Key has two buttons that open the trunk, and another that starts the vehicle. The key also comes with a switch that allows you to turn on the parking brake. The knob can be used to fold or unfold the mirrors if you are parking in a tight spot. This feature makes it easier to get into and out of your car.
The key is made of vegetable tanned leather and takes about two days to craft each one. The key is cut by hand, then shaped, stitched and sealed, then polished to create a high-end result. It is sturdy compact and fits the Bentley key perfectly. Its design resembles the Volkswagen Phaeton's huge car key, yet it feels heavier and more premium.
Secure-A-Key is also available to help prevent keyless entry theft. The device is inserted into the remote-control fob and then shuts it off when the key isn't used for a short period of time. It prevents thieves from transmitting the key's frequency to other devices that will allow the key to be opened and start the car.
Bentley's unique design is a reflection of the values of the company which include exquisite craftsmanship, engineering expertise and cutting-edge technology. Over 4,000 employees work at its Crewe headquarters, responsible for the development, design and production of Bentley cars. These workers apply skills that have been handed over generations and then apply them to the latest in automotive technology. This is British manufacturing at its best.
Personalisation
Bentley's Mulliner division lets customers design their car. The "mood station" lets customers pick images that inspire them. These could range from stunning views to sporting events. Every time a choice is made, the pattern that emerges will reveal the model preference for color, style and design for the customized Bentley.
The resulting configuration is then loaded onto individual R.F.I.D.-enabled keys, which are presented to guests in a custom-made key case. Keys can be adorned with Bentley Muliner Personalised welcome lamps that illuminate the pathway of the entrance door, and display the owner's logo or name as they approach the vehicle.
Bentley estimates that it takes about 500 man-hours to build and construct the Mulsanne. The main reason for this lengthy effort is a conscious refusal to adopt the latest technology. The Crewe factory workers do not make use of a machine to create perfectly-matched cross stitched leather seats. Instead, they do it by hand. And rather than using the car's built-in sensors to guide it to perpendicular and parallel parking spots, drivers have to do it manually.
The event also saw bentley arnage key fob displayed its Mulliner personalization capabilities with a special example that was the Mulsanne W.O. Edition, which pays tribute to the founder William Osler bentley gt key. The 100 limited-edition cars include one key that features a portion of the 1930 8 Liter's crankshaft.
